Fr. Eric Schild was born in Norwalk, OH and attended St. Paul Catholic Schools. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1998. After that, Fr. Eric attended John Carroll University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Communications. Fr. Eric then affiliated with the Diocese of Toledo as a seminarian and began studying at St. Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, IN immediately following his graduation from John Carroll. He graduated from St. Meinrad Seminary with a Master of Arts in Catholic Theology and a Master of Divinity. While in seminary, Fr. Eric also attended the University of Dayton where he earned a Master of Science degree in Catholic Educational Administration.
Fr. Eric was ordained a Catholic priest on June 2, 2007 and his first assignment was at St. Wendelin in Fostoria, OH. At St. Wendelin, Fr. Eric served on the faculty at St. Wendelin High School and was also chaplain to the school in addition to his duties as associate pastor of the parish. In March of 2010, Bishop Leonard Blair assigned Fr. Eric as the President of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy and the Pastor of Bono, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. In 2012, Fr. Eric became the pastor of Walbridge, St. Jerome Parish in addition to his duties as President of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy.
